My Story

I’m Vincy, and I love helping people craft their authentic story.

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.” I was 11 when I first read this iconic line by William Shakespeare and took it to heart.

A love for immersing myself in characters’ journeys and emotions in literature carried over into real life. It fueled my interest in exploring the stories we inhabit and the choices that shape our personal and professional narratives.

Pouring myself into my journal was also a big part of my childhood, making pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism a natural progression. I had a transformative experience while interning in Bihar, India, during this period.

In one of the villages, I interviewed a girl aged 15 about the entitlements she was supposed to receive as part of a welfare programme. While she was painfully shy during the interview, I witnessed the same girl fearlessly testify three days later against the officers who had failed to deliver her due entitlements.

Her passionate rebuke was backed by figures and dates, which she rattled off from memory. As the crowd roared in support, I looked on, stunned.

If you're keen to improve your writing and communication skills, learn about policy research and communications, careers in public policy and the social sector, or explore your creative side, I am here to help you craft your authentic story.

The experience challenged my perceptions of those ‘different’ from me. It made me reflect on the power of one’s voice and sheer courage.

After graduating with a Master’s degree in political science, where I was formally introduced to public policy and social science research, I landed my dream job at the Centre for Policy Research in New Delhi. The feature piece journalist in me found a happy home in qualitative and mixed methods public policy research.

I spent years as an ethnographer, observing and interviewing hundreds of people from all walks of life and studying how governments get things done. Through it all, understanding communication processes was central. As a policy researcher, I learned the importance of weaving knowledge dissemination and audience engagement activities into project timelines.

My interest in the learning and development space was sparked while working with my team to develop learning products from the research we produced. This eventually led me to my current professional home.

In 2024, I founded Vincoms Media – a venture dedicated to helping people disconnect to connect with themselves and with others through the power of good communication. Through school, corporate, and open programmes, I teach essential life skills centred around active listening, empathy, introspection, creativity, and collaboration. Journaling is a big part of my toolkit.

I also steer the Writing and Communication Lab at the Indian School of Public Policy in New Delhi. At ISPP, I married my experience in policy research with my training in communications to develop and teach a unique course on public policy communications – the first of its kind in India.

Over the past decade, I have also worked with prominent organisations like the World Bank, Delhi’s Child Protection Commission, Hindustan Times, and a major political consultancy. These experiences helped me refine and leverage my interdisciplinary insights in the research and communications programmes that I hold. A recent example of this is my co-developed course on Policy Writing for civil servants, published on the Government of India’s capacity-building MOOC platform, iGOT.

From journaling since the age of 12 to pioneering a new sub-discipline in public policy and communications, my career arc has been a creative and deeply fulfilling one. My academic foundation and experience in research, communications, and learning and development form the backbone of my pedagogy.

As a Life Skills Coach, I aim to help learners develop crucial life skills, such as critical thinking, clarity, confidence in public speaking, emotional and situational awareness, and empathetic interpersonal communication.
